Frame Precious Memories for Future Years

Precious memories in small frames.

Why I Made It

I had extras of the smallest sizes of photos from school photo collections and decided it would be a great idea to frame them and put one on the tree each year to track my son's growth. I took my own photo of my younger son and added a lock of his hair behind the photo so he would be on the tree as well. It worked so well, I got out baby pictures and framed one for each year of their lives.

What I Love About It

Now that they are adults the tree is full of photos taken each year from birth until they graduated from school. It has become a true tree of memories. Some have locks of hair, some have special poses. They are the first items to go on the tree, and the ones everyone stops to chat and reminisce about.

Tips and Tricks

  • Try to use similar sized photos every year.
  • You can easily make your own frames from paper over cardboard
  • Search out large lockets and small metal frames to use
  • Save locks of your childrens' hair when they are small, they won't believe how much the color changes!
  • Use colorful ribbon or metallic threads to hang the frames.
