To Create a Miniature Trouble Light for a Scale Garage using LED's you will need:
- A white light LED (complete with resistor) I used a DC powered one from Evan Designs which can be run from a 9 volt battery.
- 9 volt battery and battery cap. If you will be running the LED through a dolls house or other lighting system, you will not need a battery to power the light. If this is the case make sure you get an LED set up to operate on AC current.
- 1/8 inch Shrink Wrap tubing the color and length you want your electrical cord, I used 1 foot of yellow and a ½ inch piece of ¼ inch black tubing to form the light base.
- Small piece of heavy aluminum foil or embossing metal. As you will be smoothing and shaping this, you can use a pie plate, tart tin, or a piece of an aluminum food delivery container.
- Metal embossing tool or a craft stick to smooth and shape the metal light reflector.
- fine wire or thread to make the light hook and the front safety cover.
- Acrylic paint to color the wire or thread if necessary.
- Fine electrical wire to extend the wire length of the light if you want to have a longer cord to the battery (and a soldering iron/resin etc. if you want to extend the wires by soldering)
- A small bead or the rounded end of a pencil or pen to shape the aluminium around
