Guide Review - The Car Room Magazine
This is a new bimonthly magazine (first issue June/July 2008) which carries on from, and links back to the Joe Kelly Jr. Car Room Website. The photography, both overview and detail shots are clear, and each review features information about the details, edition numbers and price. Production values (layout, paper, photography) for this magazine are very high. The main focus is on muscle cars, nascar, european exotics, race cars and collectible road models with all scales covered. There is also good coverage of accessories including tools, figures and display cases.
The magazine is well presented with a good balance of background and actual model information. If the Car Room Website has a video on the model being discussed, the article highlights the link. Most of the stills shown on the website also feature in the related magazine article. Fair coverage of good and bad points for the models is covered with the magazine featuring three main sections: 1:24 written by Brian Schindler, 1:43 by Marshall Buck and 1:18 by Joe Kelly Jr.
A great magazine, especially for those who follow the car room website, but want high quality photos for reference in a format they can thumb through.
Available for $5.99 US a single issue or $24.95 US for a one year subscription of six issues. This magazine is not yet available in stores, but can be ordered online.
