Garden Railway, or Half Scale Models on Display at Madurodam, The Netherlands

From Lesley Shepherd, About.com

Madurodam is a memorial park in Den Haag, The Netherlands, built in 1952 in memory of George Maduro, who served with honors in the Dutch Military in WWll and who died as a POW at Dachau concentration camp in 1945.

The 1:25 scale models in Madurodam are based on famous buildings, ships and other structures found throughout Holland.

Madurodam is located on the outskirts of Den Haag, and is a year round tourist attraction with much to appeal to model enthusiasts. There are hundreds of buildings and figures, waterways, railroads, even an airport, all in 1:25 scale.
