Work on Both Sides of Your Clamped Stack of Stir Sticks

Back of a stack of miniature fence pickets shows which areas need to be filed away.

The miniature fence pickets need to be filed from the side with the drawing and the back side to make sure the shape is even on all pickets in the stack.

Turn your stack of stir sticks over every once in a while to check that the bottom picket in your stack is shaping up the same way as the top picket in the stack. If it isn't, check that your file is held straight to your drawing on the front picket. If the bottom picket doesn't match the top one, file from the bottom of the stack for a bit until the top and bottom shapes are equal.

Finish the shape by holding the stack so you can file the side of the stack to make sure all the shapes have the same shoulder depth and that the tops are all equal.
