Breyer make some lovely draft breed model horses, and draft horses are also entered in model horse showmanship classes in photo and live model horse shows. Adult draft horses, particularly stallions, are usually shown in halter showmanship with a full bridle rather than a halter. Foals may be shown with halter only. Adult horses may also feature a surcingle or belly strap as if the horse is in harness. Mature horses' manes are usually braided into intricate show braids.

Choose a plain, flat halter and leather lead with chain for model horse draft breed foals. Mare and foal and stallion and get (foal) set-ups should use tack on the adult horses only, with the handler leading the adult. Handler dolls should wear conservative show clothing or Western-style performance outfits.
