Arabians remain the most popular model horses, and Breyer, Stone and many artist resin model horses are the pride of the show ring. Arabians shown in halter showmanship classes require different halters than stock or draft breed models. In the real horse world, Arabians are shown in halter showmanship using very thin, fine leather halters. This shows off their gorgeous profiles to best advantage. Both pure bred and part bred Arabians are shown this way. Mane and tail are left loose and flowing. Handlers wear either the conservative attire of the gaited show pen or Western-style clothing. Breyer dolls outfitted this way work well. Some model horse hobbyists use Arabian-costumed dolls to create Arabian-themed dioramas as well.
