Make Miniature Christmas Decorations and Displays

Miniatures are used for Christmas Tree decorations, as well as Christmas villages and displays. This list of projects and printable miniatures will help you make decorations for your full size tree, make and decorate a tiny Christmas village or Creche, or decorate a miniature Christmas tree.

11. Make Miniature Tree Cones For Decorations

Make scale miniature pine, fir and spruce cones to decorate Christmas scenes, wreaths, or other ornaments. These tiny paper cones are easily made from paper and wire.

How small can you go? Make a simple bow making tool and test your tying skills (or do what I suggest and use wire!)

Print these miniature boxes to package your wares at craft fairs, make an advent calendar, or wrap tiny gifts. The boxes are roughly 2 inches x 2 inches by 1 1/2 inches in size. Two will print out on a standard letter sized sheet of lightweight card or photo paper.

Dime store glitter or coconut houses are a treasured tradition from the 1920,s to 1940's. Revive the tradition with these miniature buildings which can be used for a special village or hung individually from a Christmas tree.

These little printable shops are 1:144 or close to N Scale in train model scale. They are easy to make and can be grouped together for a Christmas village, or hung on a tree as ornaments. If you want them to be sturdier than paper alone, you can glue them to thin wood or bookboard.

Like the other printable buildings in the 1:144 scale village collection the bank can be made with an interior, or you can print an extra front wall and turn it into a box to hold a tiny Christmas present.

This village house has a decorated interior and can be used as a dolls house for inside a 1:12 scale dolls house. The fire hydrant and dogs are N scale railway figures and the snowman is made from a product called Scenic Snow, which works well for permanent winter effects in scale scenes. Any of the buildings in this scale can have glass windows by using products similar to Glue 'N Glaze.
