To assemble the dolls house scale shamrock cake stand, cut out the three plates from the sheet of printables. Use the second layer as a pattern to make a rough circle to finish the base of the stand. Paint this plain piece of paper to match the bottom of your plates, if you color the base of your plates. Use a pin to make a hole through the center of each plate (in the center of the dark circle).
Thread a bead onto the end of a head pin, or a two inch doubled strand of fine brass wire. If you use wire, spread the loop at the top of the wire where it folds, to hold the bead from slipping off. The bead you choose will be the handle of the cake stand.
Thread a bugle bead spacer onto the head pin below the bead. The bugle beads will set the space between the plate layers. I used crystal bugle beads for my sample.
Add a dab of glue to the bottom of the bugle bead on the head pin, and slip your smallest plate onto the head pin to form the first cake tier.
Follow the plate with another bugle bead, coated on both ends with glue, the add the medium sized plate. Add another glued bugle bead, then slide the final plate onto the bottom of the headpin. Press all the plates and beads tight to one another and bend the headpin tight to the bottom of the largest plate. If you are using doubled brass wire, bend the two ends off in opposite directions below the bottom of the plate. Trim it at least 1/4 inch away from the bend below the bottom plate.
Take the scrap paper base you cut at the beginning of these instructions and coat the unpainted side thoroughly with strong glue. Slide this base plate over the head pin so that the colored side will be visible against the bottom of the main plate. Press it tightly against the base. This base will sandwich the ends of the wire between the plate and the base to hold the pin assembly. Straighten the plates and set aside to dry.
