To start making the dessert set, cut the paper plates and saucers from the sheet you printed. Use an embossing tool or a rounded toothpick to press down on the edges of the plate centers to mark the plate base separate from it's edge. Flip the paper plate over so the back is facing up and run the embossing tool along the outside edge of the plate, curling it under slightly.
If you wish you can protect the paper plates and make them stronger by coating them with a clear acrylic coating. The coating should be used on both sides of the plates (or you can paint the back with acrylic paint) to keep them from curling. Apply the coating in several thin coats using a soft paint brush. Especially on the first coat be careful not to apply too much finish or the printed inks may run.
