Check the ribbon section of your local or online fabric store, craft store or scrapbook supplier seasonally for puffy ribbon trims which are just the right scale for dolls house or other miniature scenes.
For Halloween you can find, ghosts, pumpkins or bats which make an effective garland decoration across a miniature front porch. The ghosts even glow under black light which is an added bonus. Separate the ghosts, bats or pumpkins to hang them from trees or in dollhouse windows using fine invisible thread.
Other things to watch for in the ribbon section are miniature chains, tiny strings of beads for Christmas trees, and shaped lace for window curtains, along with fine ribbon for decorations and bows.
