This reference sheet can be printed off from the accompanying pdf (acrobat reader) sheet of people in common dolls house, miniature and train scales. The sheet contains pairs of my doll house gardener's boy George, sized to six feet and five foot six inches in each scale.
To Use the Figures For a Scale Check Print off the sheet of figures and glue the scale you need to a piece of card. If you use an ink jet printer, spray the paper with fixative. You can also laminate the figures. A plastic coating will help them last longer. Get in the habit of carrying your figure with you when you go looking for other items in the correct scales. It will act as a ready reference for items which may serve for your particular scale.
The scale figures given represent four main dolls house scales (1:12, 1:24, 1:48 and 1:144.) Four railroad scales (1:24 or 1:25) G scale, 1:64 (S Scale), 1:87 (HO scale) and 1:160 (N scale). Common metal soldiers and Britain's collectible figures are in 1:32 scale, as are many collectible village figures. The tallest figure in 1:72 scale is 25mm which is a basic size for gaming miniatures (between 25 and 28mm). N scales can vary. The figures given in N scale are 1:144 which is used for dolls houses inside a 1:12 scale dollhouse, but which is very close to the 1:148 scale used as N scale in the UK. N scale in the United States is usually 1:160, the other figure size shown for N. Some "N" scale railway pieces will not work with each other due to these differences. Check the location of the manufacturer to help determine which ratio the N scale piece you are interested in is set to.
