This section of model railway track has a standard flat set of two rail lines. Rather than design a layout that faces the viewer, the modeler has created the effect of a road coming up a rise out of the forest in a section of the scene, which draws your eye towards the typical whistle stop which was once found on the corner of country roads. This road also has the effect of widening the perspective of a standard narrow scenery section. The viewer feels there is something going on behind the backdrop.
Other features of the scene give it a humorous touch and add to the viewer's enjoyment. There is the obvious moose on the road, but in other parts of the scene there are derelict cars being recovered, activity in an outhouse, and the buildings are local landmarks, familiar to many of the people who will view the scene, even though they are presented out of context.
