Model railway clubs attract miniaturists with varied skills. Some track the history for their layout, some create spectacular scenery, others specialize in locomotives or rolling stock. Most club members can be found wearing engineers hats or vests with badges from the many train events they have attended. All of them are happy to talk to beginners.

Although we tend to think of model railroading as being a retirement hobby, there are lots of ages of enthusiasts at any show. This is a good place to introduce a young person to the hobby.
