This house is in a form recognizable from almost every British Colony. A wide veranda wraps totally around the house (the original support posts are in the process of being restored and are not in place in this photo)

The windows in the house all take the form of doors with windows or French doors. This makes a very light and airy house. Although you cannot see it from the photos, the house is laid out with two large rooms at the front and two at the back, grouped on a central hallway. The parlour is at the right front and is backed by the kitchen at the rear, allowing both to share the main chimney stack.

Similar houses were available in single story or two story designs.
