The Bottom Line

Playmobil is a great way to introduce children to a set of miniature collectibles. There are several online collecting clubs, remaking groups, wargaming groups, and film groups and the micro sets also can be used in standard dolls houses as toys. The tiny but usable micro scale Playmobil sets echo the larger sets and allow the 1:24 scale Playmobil characters toys of their own to play with. The sets are designed to Playmobil's high standards with high play value.

Guide Review - Playmobil Micro Play Sets

Playmobil Micro sets are a wonderful way to introduce children 4 years and up to scale miniatures. These sets are created as stand alone toy sets which can be combined with Playmobil children figures as toys for the figures to play with. Playmobil sets are roughly 1:24 or G scale for dolls houses or garden railway sets, and the micro sets have figures which are close to N scale railway size.

The Playmobil micro sets also make good children's toys for 1:12 scale dollhouse miniature collectors. The range gives you four sets. Two feature castles, one with fairy tale figures, including a coach for a princess, (Compare Prices) one with knights and a dragon (see above). A third set features pirates, a cannon and a fort, (Compare Prices) and a fourth is a Noah's Ark set with giraffes, elephants, rhinos, zebras, camels and animal figures (Compare Prices). The sets retail for under $10 each.

All Playmobil sets have collectible value and stand up well to children's play. The sets can all be combined with other sets and accessories are interchangeable. The micro sets each come in a storage box with a scene on the base and the lid. The base of the box attracts and holds the tiny magnets securely attached to the micro toys, allowing children to move and play with them, without the difficulty faced by adults with non magnetic N scale figures! These stand alone sets are good play for children in small spaces, a car or a sickbed, but can also be used with regular Playmobil sets which feature the smaller child characters.
