To fold a box top from recycled paper, adjust your fold depth for the sides so that the side folds do not meet in the center of the paper, but are even distances away from the center. The spacing does not need to be very far from the center, just enough to allow the lid to slip over the base.
Fold the opposite sides the same way, so that they do not meet in the middle.
With all the side fold lines marked, make the box lid the same way you made the box base. The adjusted fold lines should make your box a bit wider, with slightly lower sides that will fit over your box base easily.
