Introduction to Making Paper Shops in 1:144 Scale
Paper buildings are a good way to experiment with a new scale and are the right size to use as dolls houses in a 1:12 scale dolls house scale. 1/144 scale is very close to N scale for railroads which can range from 1:148 to 1:160. If you reduce the size of these diagrams slightly you can create buildings in N scale for a railroad or Christmas Train layout.
You can use these little shops for a static temporary display, or glue the designs to wood or bristol board and create something more permanent. Their size means they can also be used to make decorative gift boxes (make a fitted back and base) or use them as Christmas tree ornaments. You can find furnishings for these small displays.
