Cut Out and Assemble the miniature house.

  • Cut out the building facade for the house and use a bone folder or a sharp straight edge to fold the sides of the shop crisply at right angles to the house front. The fold for this house front is just beside the black line of the downspouts on the house front. Ignore the cropping lines at the top.
  • Lay the house front down flat on its printed surface
  • Locate the straight brown floor support line underneath the flooring pieces, and cut it out, keeping the edges as straight as possible. Glue this piece to the back of the house, lining it up with the bottom edge of the house. It will act as the support for the floor above. Set aside to dry.
  • Cut out the colored interior sections. The blue is the first floor wall and the larger yellow piece will form the second floor. Cut out the baseboard strip from below each section of interior wall.
  • Place the blue wallpaper so it is just above the brown floor support strip. Use a spare scrap of card stock (or plywood or bristol board if you are using it as a backing) to act as a spacer between the base of the wallpaper and the floor support below. The space is needed to glue the floor into later. When you have the spacing correct, glue the wall paper across the span of the shop, making sure the edges are straight. Cover the bottom edge of your wall paper with the strip of separate baseboard molding leaving the space below free for the floor to be inserted later.
  • Glue a the cornice stripto the top of the blue wallpaper on the interior of your house. It will support the second floor. Add the second floor paper the same, leaving a small gap for the floor between the top cornice of the first floor and the bottom of the second floor . Glue a baseboard strip to the bottom of the second floor.
  • Trim the interior flush with the top of the house exterior walls and roof.
