The Bottom Line

I love repositionable glue, it helps my accuracy and lets me try before I finally commit to gluing something in position. Sakura's Quickie Glue pen gives me accurate glue outlines with a very fine line(.7mm). There is no need to shake or squeeze the applicator and the line remains precise. I can foil or add glitter to anything I can draw. The glue is color coded; blue for permanent gluing, clear for temporary positioning. Great for fine lines of glitter, script, outlines on signs, all kinds of uses for miniatures.

Pros

  • Great way to glue a test fit of paper miniatures
  • Can be used for permanent or temporary bonds
  • Works exactly like a ball point pen, only with glue.
  • Line width (.7mm) allows gluing of fine foil or glitter lines.

Cons

  • May be difficult to find, search scrapbooking stores online.

Description

  • Fine glue line applicator allows 'writing' with glitter or foil.
  • Glue can be used for permanent or temporary applications
  • Always ready, no shaking or squeezing needed.

Guide Review - Repositionable or Permanent Glue in a Pen

Sakura's .7mm Quickie Glue Pen is a favorite item on my desk. Designed like a precision ball point pen, the spring loaded tip allows you to apply precise lines of glue as easily as using a pen. The butterfly shaped cap protects the glue from drying out when the pen is not in use, and helps prevent you from writing your signature in glue instead of ballpoint ink, by differentiating the glue pen from regular pens.

The glue is usable as a permanent bond by using it when it is a blue color. By leaving it to dry for a minute which causes it to turn clear, you can use it as a tacky adhesive to reposition or temporarily tack surfaces. Designed for use on paper and card, it will temporarily tack smooth wood surfaces, but will not hold on wood. You could however use it to add lines of glitter or foil to wood or painted surfaces.

The glue does not have an aggressive tack, it is a bit similar to thin rubber cement. It's advantages come from the fine line, easily controlled applicator, and the fact that you can use it as a repositionable glue to test fit items or make them moveable (similar to a post it note).
