From January 18 through February 15, 2012, the readers of the About.com Miniatures Site nominated their favorite miniature blogs, building kits and new products.
Reader's nominations in each category were tallied and finalists selected. Linked to each of the categories below, is a set of descriptions of each finalist, with a link on the finalist's page to a poll where you can vote for your favorite between February 22nd and March 21st. You may vote once per 24 hour period in each award category.
Voting polls linked to each category listed below will close March 21 and Winners will be announced in the Miniatures Blog on March 30, 2012.

1. 2012 Finalists Best Blog About Miniatures
The five finalists in the Best Miniature Blog Category cover a wide variety of styles and approaches to miniatures. Two key items nominees focussed on when nominating blogs for these awards were information sharing and humour / human interest. This is a great collection of blogs from around the world. A link to the voting poll can be found on the description of each miniature blog, and you can sign in to vote using an email address, or your facebook or about.com login to vote daily during the voting process.
2. Best Miniature Building Kit 2012 Finalists
This years building nominations were for smaller scale projects. Two scales are represented 1:12 and 1:48, and the kits range from basic pieces that allow you to easily modify the building to many purposes, to a kit with fantasy leanings.
3. Best New Product or Material for Miniatures 2012 Finalists
The past year saw some great new introductions of products and materials to make scale modelling easier and more interesting. The nominees in this category include tools, books and lights
