This was a close fought competition but the background story of Tessie the miniature witch which is so much a part of Casey's blog, obviously won over the majority of readers. No doubt helped by Tessie's campaigning. It was delightful to see Tessie take up "Vote for Tessie" signs on the blog. In this case readers were voting for both the character and the blog itself, which has grown to involve a range of independent characters, with lives and personalities which weave through the project instructions and information presented on dolls house miniatures. It's a fascinating look at how much easier it is for readers to remember instruction and detail when a storyline is included.
The award is well deserved as this is a blog which is updated daily and has 1,238 entries from it's start to the third anniversary on February 28th 2011. Although Casey began it as a means of keeping a record of her miniatures, it has grown to an engaging story line which is as much a ritual for its readers as its writer.
