Villages were built over a large time period, and a 'traditional' village will have some quirky buildings. The variations in size and scale are what add to the charm of European villages. When you create model villages or a dolls house street scene, try to make a few buildings smaller than you would expect. This will draw your eye to the windows of that particular shop.
