Check the Shape of Your Bouquet From the side, the bouquet should rise in a curve from the bottom rosebuds, to form a gentle curve that drops again after the center of the bow, allowing the bouquet to curve back above the hands of the person carrying it.
Check the Position of the Ribbons and Roses From the front, check that the bouquet has a gentle S curve created by the layout of the roses. All the rose should be equally raised above the ribbon. The roses should cover the bases of the ribbon so that you don't see any gaps or open areas. Use tweezers to reposition the roses or adjust the loops of the ribbon. In the photo on this page, notice that my central roses are not running at the correct angle, they make a line across the center instead of being slightly offset. My gardener must have squeezed the bouquet too tightly!
Trim the Ribbon Ends When everything is in place, trim the ends of the ribbons on the loops, bow and handle by cutting the ends at an angle. Try to trim the ribbon ends to a length that adds to the shape of the bouquet, rather than trimming them all the same length.
Enjoy your bouquet!
Mixed Flower Bouquets can be made the same way as the rose bouquet. Substitute smaller flowers for the rosebuds, and use larger flowers towards the center of the bouquet.
