Complete the Miniature Basket Base with Three Rod Waling

A quarter sized base woven of thread for a miniature scale flower basket reaches final size.

Continue to weave the miniature basket base using three rod waling, until you have completed five rounds of three rod waling. In the photo, waling is shown in green thread.

To finish off the waling, take the ends of the threads (weavers) down along the base canes (wires) after completing the waling stitch. Cut the excess threads.

Trim the Wires Cut the base wires (stakes) close to the edge of your final row of waling, leaving a tiny bit protruding from the weaving. Dab a bit of glue at the top join of the wire and the threads which weave around it. Set aside to dry. (See photo next step)
