Materials:
Small flower container– This simple miniature wooden flower pot from a craft store is approximately ¾ inch high and ½ inch wide which makes it appropriate for dollhouse scale.
Paper for leaves - in a dark green, standard bond weight paper (try to use acid free paper)
Paper for flowers - your choice of colour, standard bond weight or airmail weight (painted your choice of colors – acid free if possible)
Circle Punch - at least 1/2 inch in diameter.
Oak Leaf Punch - leaf length should be 3/8 inch or slightly more
Acrylic paint - to match flower color.
PVA glue (white glue) - try to use one that is acid free.
*# 24 gauge paper wrapped wire - Cut seven pieces of wire, ranging in size from ½ inch to 1 ¼ inches.
Florist’s clay or children’s modeling clay - to fit your container.
Fine straight scissors
Fine tweezers - the ones with no serrations on the blade are best for working with paper flowers as they won’t leave marks.
Rounded toothpick - or a blunt needle (ball point sewing machine needle or crewel hand needle) or a paper embossing tool for drawing vein lines in leaves.
Eraser or foam pad - to shape leaves on.
Not necessary but make nice touches if this is given as a gift - 1 ½ inch square piece of candy or florist foil. Small scale bow.
*If you can’t find wrapped wire you can wrap wire with green florist’s tape. Paper wrapped wire takes glue better than unwrapped wire.
