Cut a piece of dry floral foam to the size you wish for your overall base for a miniature fire. The one in these photos is cut to a ½ inch thickness to allow it to easily match up with other landscaped pieces for a dolls house, railroad, Christmas village or other scale scene. If you want the fire in the centre of a larger scene, you can attach several pieces of thinner floral foam to a cardboard or wood base after you have your fire in place.

Cut a slot in the centre of your fire base for the wiring to pass through. Make sure the slot is smaller than your fire, but large enough for the battery wiring cap to pass through.
