Prepare the Body and Neck of the Jar

Glue the strip of acetate into a cylinder Roll the strip of acetate you cut in the preceding step into a cylinder, overlapping the back edges by 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch. Hold the back edge in place and check the measurement against the size of the base circle you cut with your punch. Adjust the overlap on the strip to make the cylinder a close fit with the jar base. When the overlap is correct, use a pin to run a tiny bead of glue along the edge of the overlap and press the edges tightly together with your tweezers along the join. If you have double sided tape, cut a thin strip (the width of the overlap) and use that to hold the cylinder edges together while you apply the glue at the edge. Hold the cylinder with your tweezers (or the tape) until the glue seam is dry. Set the cylinder into the appropriate size hole in the circle template if you have one, to hold it firm.

Assemble the jar neck Take the pin, and place a tiny dab of glue in the center of one of the smaller circles, glue another circle on top, add a dab of glue, and continue to build a column/stack of circles until you have enough of them glued together to form the jar mouth. Glue the tinfoil circle to the top of your stack and set the stack aside to dry.

Glue the top on the cylinder While the stack of small circles is drying, run a very thin bead of glue along the top edge of your cylinder and glue one of the large circles to the top of your cylinder. Leave to dry. When the top of the jar is securely glued to the cylinder, trim any excess of plastic that sticks out past the edges of the cylinder.
