Wrap the Wire Frame with Fibre to Begin Creating the Miniature Raccoon's Body

By , About.com Guide

Felting some body fibre into the pipe cleaner frame will create a flexible body for your miniature raccoon (or other animal).

Tease apart some long strands of your fibre and roll them lightly to create a thread similar to a fine knitting yarn. This doesn't need to be any particular thickness or length.

For a miniature raccoon use white or pale grey for the body and darker grey or brown for the legs.

Start by running a bit of thread straight down the bottom 1/4 inch of the leg and over the bottom end of the pipe cleaner. Wrap around the pipe cleaner from the bottom of the leg up, wrapping around your starting thread to hold it in place. Wrap all legs the same way.

Use a thicker set of strands to wrap the body with white or pale grey fibre (raccoons have a pale underbelly)

Your raccoon body doesn't need to be shaped to stand as in the photo, it can be flat for the next few steps.
