Needle felting is a useful technique that allows miniaturists to create small dolls and animals. Using very fine needles and silk fibres you can create even smaller scale creatures. The instructions in the pages which follow demonstrate how the larger of the two raccoons in the photo above was created. The larger raccoon uses wool fibre and is in 1:12 scale, the smaller baby raccoon was made the same way on a smaller body frame, using silk fibres. An even smaller raccoon is easily achieved by a careful beginner.
