Add finished molding or rough wood trim (as shown here) to the edge of the cabin porch shelf to cover the floral foam and create a finished edge. The strips shown here are ½ inch by ¼ inch rough sawn stock. Picture frame moldings will work as well, but give a more formal finish,

To create a simple view through the cabin window, blow up a suitable interior photograph (or cut one from a magazine) and attach it to the space behind the window. Put a sheet of card, or heavy paper behind the photo or magazine picture, to block the light from coming in behind the photo and destroying the effect.

If you would rather create a display or add a light inside the window, create a small shelf and attach it to the back of the facade just below the window. Place your light on the shelf. Back the shelf with a photo as above to create depth to the miniature scene.

To hand the shelf on the wall, fix two sturdy eyes or picture attachments to the cross piece on the back of the facade frame. Attach a piece of picture wire between these hooks and hang the shelf on a heavy picture hook, or two nails on the wall.
