This is the exterior front and back of a four sided, silk fringed, Victorian Christmas card by Raphael Tuck and Sons. The front verse is printed in a copperplate script and reads Happy Christmas to you / As rich a measure/ Be it yours to know/ As Peace and Pleasure /Ever can bestow. The back of the card, unusually not in verse, reads May the dawn of the New Year / be joyful and bright with / the sunshine of hope and / all good gifts surround thee.

These cards are obviously compiled from a set of similar illustrations as the verses are not related. The verse layout on the background design has been set to mirror the fold on the front and back however.

Cost $20 and up depending on condition and rarity.
