Definition: Living Miniatures - Small plants and animals which are given a designation as a miniature based on particular size and proportion standards. Unlike Bonsai or Penjing - plants which are kept artificially small by cultivation practices, miniature plants and animals do not need care to remain small and their size is not the result of reversible environmental or hormonal conditions but is due to their genetics.
