Definition of Conservation

Definition: Conservation - The practice of managing and caring for natural and cultural resources. The practice of protecting something from change, loss or damage. Miniatures must be conserved to ensure they will last for generations.

Conservator – a person usually employed by a museum or library, who is involved in the technical examination, preservation and conservation-restoration of cultural property.

Pronunciation: con-ser-va-tion
Examples:
A museum conservator or conservation specialist can suggest ways of storing and repairing miniatures so that they do not suffer further damage.
