To Make Miniature Lilies in Dolls House Scales You Will Need:
- PVA (White) Glue
- Wire for Stems for 1:12 scale lilies paper wrapped wire #26 or #24 gauge is good, the stem of a lily is fairly thick. You will need pieces of wire approximately 3 inches long or sized to fit in your container.
- Wire Cutters or kitchen shears that will cut fine wire
- Embossing Tool or rounded toothpick to shape the petals and leaves of the flowers.
- Eraser or a foam pad or mouse pad to shape the petals and leaves on.
- Sharp Curved Scissors to cut small flower parts.
- Bent Nosed Tweezers
- Colored Paper in your choice of colors for flowers and green for leaves if you want them on your stems. I use airmail paper or art marker paper and color it with watercolors to get colors closer to those of real plants.
- Paper Punch Although you can cut the petals and leaves for these plants by hand, it is easier to cut them with either a tear drop shaped punch (for larger flowers) or a daisy style punch (as shown here) for flowers and leaves. Specialized punches for lilies are available from Hanky Panky Crafts who will also sell bags of punched colored petals.
- Sewing Thread in green, beige or brown to make stamens.
- Acrylic Paints in green to match your leaves, and yellow or brown for stamens.
- Also Useful - chalk or chalk pastel to use as pollen in brown or yellow. - watercolor pencils or ink tense pencils to add fine details to your flower petals.
