To Make a Miniature Waterfall Chandelier You Will Need:

  • Fine Beading Wire or Beading Head Pins or Loops in the same metal you will use for your chandelier.
  • A Domed Metal Filligree Bead Cap with holes to string the chandelier strings through. This should be the width you wish for your chandelier and in the same metal as your wire.
  • A Pre Wired Dolls House Light Bulb if you wish a working chandelier. I used a Houseworks brand candle bulb, which comes with a screw in bulb attached to a wire and plug.
  • Electricians Tape If you will be using a prewired light, and if that light does not have a protective plastic coating over the base of the bulb holder. (If you can see bare wire on the base of the bulb holder, cover it with electricians tape to avoid wiring problems.)
  • Bugle Beadscylindrical beads in at least two lengths, you may also want small bugle beads instead of the more expensive crystals for the ends of each string. You will need one set of beads for each outer ring hole in your bead cap (at least two different lengths of bugle beads, plus an end bead for each length. If you will be making a working light, make sure your bead strands will be long enough to cover your lamp bulb.
  • Crystal Beads These are optional, but crystal beads reflect more light and sparkle than do simple small bugle beads. The sample shown in the photos used the more expensive crystal beads on the base of the outer ring of bugle beads, and used small bugle beads on the inner ring.
  • Filigree or Plain Beads to use to cover the wire from the chandelier to the ceiling, and to create a ceiling rose to cover the wiring hole. To cover the wire you can also use small diameter brass tubing if you wish.

Tools

  • Fine Needle Nose Pliers to bend the beading wire
  • Wire Cutters
  • Bent Nose Tweezers to bend wire and hold beads.
