Finish the Wall Backdrop - Lay your card wall backdrop on a flat surface and paint or create your chosen wall finish. I painted plain paper to match one of the colors on my cup, then cut the painted paper into strips when dry and overlapped them to mimic simple siding. You can also use the papers provided in the printables, which have a slight stucco design in colors to match the printables, or you can use fine sand, fine grout, or acrylic paints and bits of painted card to produce your chosen wall backdrop.

When you have finished applying the backdrop, trim it slightly larger than the backdrop (by 1/32 inch) and glue clear plastic or acrylic (from clear packaging) behind the window openings. Glue the printable window and door over the clear acrylic panes, or use the printables as templates for windows and doors you build up from pieces of card painted to your choice of colors. (you can glue the card to the printable templates to help hold the pieces together). Cut some door trim from one of the pieces of colored backdrop supplied if you want to outline your door as shown in the sample. Or you can paint a piece of card for door trim.

Add Curtains and an Interior View - If you wish, you can cut fine pieces of lace or thin material to make curtains for the windows and door. Glue or tape them in back of the windows. You can also cut out suitable sized photos from a magazine (or your own photos) and tape them behind the curtains on the door and window to provide a view into your scene. If you want to leave your door ajar for a cat or figure, you can glue or tape a scene inside the tea cup, leaving it in a soft curve so that it shows through the window and the slightly open door. You will need to tape a piece of 'flooring' as a shelf behind the door to support your figure or at least hide the drop. You can bend the edge of a piece of colored or printed paper and glue the bent edge to the back of the wall just below the door height, reinforcing it with card if necessary (bending the floor edges on either side and gluing them to the back of the wall will help support the floor as well.
