To finish your St. Patrick's Day Mint Tin, apply a spray coating of acrylic finish to protect the paper, or apply an acrylic glaze coat with a brush. Make sure your glaze coat will not run the ink from your printer. Several light sprays of a finish may work where a thin paint on acrylic causes ink to bleed.

If you have gaps at the top or bottom side edges of your covering, you can use a bit of decorative cord, ribbon, embroidery thread, or a paint marker to cover up small gaps. If you wish you can glue on charms, add embossing, glitter or gilding to the decorations before you apply a protective top coat.

The shamrocks on the interior of the lid can be used as frames for photos (by cutting out the inner shamrock and mounting the photo behind) or by gluing items inside the gold line of the shamrock. Pressed flowers, lucky clovers, small photos, charms, or celtic beads or tracings of beads work well.

Add your chosen items to your scene to finish your St. Patrick's Day Box. You could make small window boxes or milk crates using the instructions for making window boxes or roses to add to the garden, grow over the door, place in a simple paper pot, or leave on the ground in a flower gathering basket.

For the rural scene you could place a leprechaun under a small bush in the corner of the scene, or plant a bush of reindeer moss, and tuck a tiny nest with eggs into it or leave a jar of tadpoles beside it.
