Turn the Head Right Side Out

Turn the miniature hippo's head right side out before you sew the shoulder seams.

The next step is to turn the head you just finished sewing, right side out.

Before you sew anything other than the head, push the head section through the neck so that the head seams are on the inside of the head. It is much easier to turn stiff felt through a neck before the shoulders are sewn in place. Use a blunt pen to gently shape all the seams so that the head looks like the photo above.

• Stitch the Lower Jaw and Cheeks of the Hippopotamus Head
• Sew the Top of the Head to the Cheeks
• Turn the Head Right Side Out
• Tuck the Head Inside the Body and Continue Sewing
• Finish Sewing the Mini Hippo's Body
• Turn the Body and Finish the Head
• Stuff the Remainder of the Miniature Hippo's Body
