To make a dollhouse scale cookie cutter you will need a strip of heavy foil, or lightweight metal sheet. I use recycled pie plates. To prepare recycled aluminum sheet for a cookie cutter, use the bowl of a spoon to burnish the foil until the sheet is flat without folds or bends. Rub the spoon gently in the direction of any crease to press the foil flat. For each 1:12 scale custom cookie cutter you will need a strip of foil roughly 1 1/2 inches (4 cm) long and 1/2 inch (1.25 cm) wide. For larger scales you will need a longer and slightly wider section of foil. For 1:24 scale, you will need a narrow piece of foil roughly 1 inch (2.5 cm) long.
Cut the strip to an appropriate length and fold it neatly in half, burnishing the back of the folded edge carefully with your spoon to make a sharp crease.
