Definition: Hemostat - Hemostats are medical clamps used for stopping blood flow in blood vessels. They resemble a pair of scissors with a clamp instead of blades on the end of the arms. For scale modelers and miniaturists they are useful clamping tools available in two main forms either locking or non locking:
- Curved - useful for working around behind other objects.
- Straight - useful for general purposes.
Hemostats are often used to add stuffing to tiny stuffed toys as well as their usual clamping function.
