  • Apply Protective Overcoat Apply a fine overcoat finish (matte or gloss depending on your preference) to your miniature figures to protect the acrylic finish. A spray coat is advisable, but you can use brush on coatings if you prefer them to sprays.
  • Finish the Base Apply any finishing details you want to the bases of your figures. Try to tie the bases in to the type of terrain the figures will be used in. Most gamers glue a fine sand or railway scenics ballast into an undercoat base, then paint this to suit the terrain surrounds. If you wish you can use a few tiny drops of glue applied with a glue syringe or a pin, to glue tufts of railway scenic grass to the base of the figures. One to three tufts is usually lots!
  • Keep Practicing! For a first attempt with paints on hand these little guys aren’t bad, but we already have a lot of notes about what we would do differently for next time! (This trial was easy enough that next time is already being planned!)
