When the glue has dried, sand the dolls house scale bookcase with find sandpaper. If you are using a finished hardwood, like the walnut I used, use fine sandpaper (320 grit or better) on a sanding block to adjust any slight misalignments at the joins. Make sure you always sand in the direction of the wood grain!

Clear away any wood dust after sanding using a tack cloth. Finish your project according to suggestions for finishing full size wood projects made from your chosen hardwood. I wanted a simple modern finish for my walnut bookcase so I sanded it and gave it a clear coat finish. After the satin finish clear coat had dried, I applied a coat of furniture paste wax and buffed it to a light sheen.
