Dried and cooked examples of dolls house pasta next to real spaghetti and capellini

Dried and cooked pasta made in dollhouse scale from polymer clay. For reference there are strands of dried spaghetti and capellini in the left hand corner of the photo.

Polymer clay is a great medium for making dolls' house miniature pasta and noodles. You can adjust the color of the basic clay mix to represent either cooked, dried or fresh pasta. The techniques in this tutorial allow a better scale representation of a range of pasta types. All the examples in the photo shown have been rolled down as small as possible to make the spaghetti closer to true scale than can be achieved using a polymer clay extruder. The technique is easy, but requires a bit of practice and patience.

Materials Used to Make Dolls House Scale Pasta and Meatballs

  • Polymer Clay - I used translucent, yellow, white and a mid brown to make the range of pasta and meatballs shown.
  • Acrylic Stamp Block or polymer clay 'tissue' blade to roll thin rolls of pasta.
  • Chalk Pastels for "grated parmesan" cheese.
