Separating the Dollhouse Book Sections From the Master Strip

When your glue bound books have set, or when you are ready to work on the wire spiral binding for your dolls house books, you may find it easier to work on individual sections. For the spiral bound books you want to make sure you don't shift the line of tiny holes. For this reason, use paper clamps, one on the book you will cut free, and one on the next book up in the line.

To Separate Glue Bound Books

Clamp the book on the opening edge, and cut through on the trim line using sharp scissors or a paper cutter to free the book from the strip of books. Once the book is free of the others, remove the clamp, (which helps keep the pages from being cut in a curve). Use sharp scissors or a paper cutter to cut the front opening edge of the book so that all the folded page edges are cut free at the same time as you trim the covers. You are cutting the folded edges of those pages completely away, not cutting down each fold line. Your glue bound book will now be finished!

To Separate Spiral Bound Books Clamp the book section you want to add the binding to on its opening edge. Keep a clamp on the long strip close to the section you are cutting away. Cut along the top or bottom of the notebook, keeping the clamp in place. Do not move the clamp on the individual book until the binding is in place!
