The dolls house tea pot and coffee pot shapes are built the same way the are made.
Each pot has a main body, a base and a lid. Each set of lids and bases is printed beside the pot they match.
Cut out the sides of each pot, leaving the lids until you have the shape completed.
To Assemble
- Fold the toothed section at the base of each side so it bends at a 90 degree angle to the main face.
- Roll the main section of the pot over a pencil or pen to round the card shape.
- Glue the pot back with a 1/8 inch overlap which will be placed at the back of the pot. Press the seam against a pencil held inside the shape, or set it into the correct size circle on a circle template, or press the edges together with fine pointed tweezers. Set aside to dry.
Glue the Base When the main shape is dry, bend the toothed base sections to the inside. Cut out the base and glue it firmly to the toothed sections. Press the assembled pot down on a smooth surface and run an embossing tool around the inside base to securely glue the toothed tabs to the base. Leave to dry.
Shape the lids Cut out the pot lids and lay them upside down on a large eraser or mouse mat. Using a paper embossing tool or a rounded toothpick end, circle around the outer edge of the lid so that the lid curves gently at the edge. Set this embossed lid aside.
Create a lip Cut a 1/8 inch strip of card the same length as the diameter of the pot. (Cut a longer strip and wrap it around the pot then trim it to length.) Overlap the strip by 1/8 to 3/16 inch and glue it into a circle. Set this hoop aside to dry and do the same for the other pot.
When the hoops are dry, apply glue to the top of each hoop and press it firmly in place on the underside of the lid of each pot. This will form a lip which will keep the tea and coffee pot lids in place.
