To create a glossy surface on matte or regular printer paper paint or spray a thin coat of acrylic gloss varnish onto the sheet of printables and set them aside to dry.
Plates Carefully cut out the pieces for the hellebore plates and follow the basic instructions for making paper plates.
Cut out the Serving Dishes The serving dishes consist of a main dish, base, interior base and a lid. The double sided piece makes a bowl with a finished interior. The bases have a single outline, the lids have a double line, or a design with flowers. Each set of lids and bases is printed beside the serving dish they match. Cut out the main dish, leaving the lid until you have the basic shape completed.
Assemble The Main Body of Each Dish
- Fold the toothed section at the base of each serving dish so it bends at a 90 degree angle to the face of the dish.
- Roll the main section over a pencil or a pen to round the shape. (See illustration this page).
- Glue the back of the dishes with a 1/8 inch overlap down the side seam. Press in place against a pencil held inside the shape, or set it into the correct size circle on a circle template, or press the edges together with fine pointed tweezers.
- Set aside to dry
Glue the Base When the main shape is dry, bend the toothed base to the inside. Cut out the circular base for each dish and glue it firmly to the toothed sections. Press the assembled dish down on a smooth surface and run an embossing tool around the inside base of the dish to securely glue the toothed tabs to the base. Leave to dry.
When dry, take the second base, coat one side with glue, and insert it inside the casserole to finish the bottom edge.
The mustard pot and honey pot are assembled the same way without the extra piece on the inside bottom.
