To Create the Bow Front Shop

  • Bend the sides of the shop as you did for the straight fronted shop.
  • Fold it again crisply at the edge of the bow window on each side.
  • Curve the bow window section around a pen or pencil to get it the correct curve and fold the front so the window protrudes from the shop front.
  • Trim the three small floor sections along the bow curve and match the width of the floor to the end of the line for the bow curve.
  • Glue the front straight section of the facade to the front of all floors bedside the curve, pressing the corner near the curve tightly to the front of the floor. Leave to dry.
  • Glue the curve and the second corner beside the curve. Leave this to dry
  • Trim the floor to length and width if necessary.
  • Glue the sides of the floor to the sides of the building. In the photo on the previous page, no wall finishes are shown in order to allow you to see how the front wall is curved to the floor.

Add the Roof The roof needs to be curved slightly above the window before it is glued in place.

To hang the small shops as ornaments, knot a strand of gold thread and use a fine needle to draw it through the roof of the house, return the thread through the same hole and tie the ends together, leaving a hanging loop above the house. Cover the knot on the inside of the roof with a small piece of tape to strengthen it.
