Set your printer settings to high quality and print out one copy of the pdf file (acrobat reader) which contains the patterns for both 1:144 scale buildings.
To use wood or bristol board backing print the file on high quality paper which you can glue to the bristol board or wood.
To build the houses from card stock or photo weight paper, print them directly onto a sheet of cardstock or matte photo paper. You will be gluing two layers of this paper together for most parts so photo paper or card stock make a fairly sturdy small house.
If you want to attach the pieces to thin aircraft plywood or bristol board, glue the sections to wood or bristol board before you begin the assembly in the next step.
To use these little paper shops for ornaments, Christmas villages or Christmas railroad scenes card stock is fine. If you want to create full interiors and furnishings in a permanent display, you may want to glue the design to sturdier board before you begin assembly.
To Create the Curved Bow Windows of the Castle Hill House you will need to print the building on card stock. This building can also be made with a straight front and interior (which is easier) using the same printed diagrams.
