Assemble the Materials for a Miniature Needlework Cushion

A scrap of cross stitch and a scrap of fabric will make a miniature cushion or needle holder.

A piece of scrap or miniature needlepoint or cross stitch and a coordinating scrap of fine fabric will make a cushion for a dolls house or a needle holder.

To Make a Miniature Needle Work Cushion for a Doll's House or as a Needle Holder You Will Need:

  • A Scrap of Needlepoint, Petitpoint, Embroidery or Cross Stitch The design should be no larger than 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches (3-4 cm.)square, with a fabric selvage around the design of 1/4 inch (.5cm)
  • A coordinating piece of fabric the same height and twice the width of the needlework scrap to serve as the stabilizer for the needlework and the backing for the cushion.
  • Coordinating Sewing Thread for handstitching or machine sewing (recommended).
  • Fiberfill Batting a small amount to stuff the cushion
  • Sharp Scissors
  • Fine Sewing Needle for finishing the cushion.
